JUNIOR SQUASH at Ardleigh . . .
Ardleigh Hall is host to a significant junior programme. Juniors of all standards enjoy the game of squash under the instruction of England Squash approved coaches (this includes CRB checks). The Ardleigh junior programme is designed to not only improve and develop our younger players but also to be a fun way of introducing children to the game of Squash. The juniors will have fun whilst learning important hand-eye Co-ordination, balance and movement skills. Ardleigh currently has juniors of all levels partaking in our Squash programme; these include beginners, club, county and national players.
Juniors can begin playing by participating in our beginner classes held on Thursday evening’s at 18:30-19:30 hrs or by joining in with the relevant Saturday morning group. The Thursday group embraces all standards and beginners get the chance to mix and play against some of the better players that have been playing for a long time. We encourage our better and more established juniors to help with the development of the new players just starting out (integration and mixture of standard leads to vast improvements over a relatively short period of time).

Saturday is a significant day in the junior programme at Ardleigh as it caters for all of our young players:

  • 10:00-11:00 hrs Mini-Squash which is aimed at 5 years +
  • 11:00-12:00 hrs Older Beginners/Intermediate
  • 12:00-13:00 hrs Advanced Juniors

As the junior’s improve in standard they progress to the more advanced group sessions that are held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday’s from 17:00-18:00 hrs; quite often these sessions will be incorporated as an addition to the existing Thursday and/or Saturday group that they currently attend (instead of merely replacing them). There is also a junior team at Ardleigh which the young players can aspire to. The Ardleigh junior team is currently leading the way in the North Essex Squash League.
